Commuteur

The sketch for this piece was originally inspired by and offhanded non-sequitur comment I made to *Blackscarab333 at around 3am. The next day we where taking an arrangement of buses from Brooklyn to Newpaltz which is something of a long commute, so I decided to occupy myself by drawing it. It's was sitting in my sketchbook as a raw pencil sketch for about a month.

Recently ~ArielleAdalae created a group called GoldenIllustration [link] . . . I checked out her group and I really like it. I wasn't exactly sure what "Golden Age Illustration" was, but I had a loose idea about it. I was never good with art history. Anyway, I thought this piece would fit nicely with that style. So it's sort of a contemporary crack at Golden Age Illustration style. I rarely ever try to work in an established style, I'm not sure if I've succeeded. Nevertheless, I am happy with the result.

Of course I always appreciate feedback of any sort, but if anyone is familiar with Golden Age Illustration style and wouldn't mind giving me some feedback about this piece I'd really appreciate it. Does it fit with the genre? If not, why?
